"Ate here for a Saturday breakfast. Very friendly service as well as plenty of indoor and outdoor seating if you wanted to bring your dog. We ate the trout bagle and avo with well done fried eggs on sourdough. The bagel was soft and chewy. The serving of smoked trout was generous as well was the pickled cabbage. My wife had the sourdough with avo and eggs. The avo was presented nicely and the sourdough was toasted PERFECTLY. Highly recommend for a casual meal for 2 well under $50"

"This Vietnamese café is a wonderful spot that blends comforting traditional flavours with a modern Australian breakfast menu. The pho is a real highlight, deeply aromatic broth, well-balanced seasoning, and generous portions that feel both nourishing and authentic. It’s the kind of pho you’d happily come back for on a cool morning or any time you’re craving something warming. What makes this café stand out is its versatility. Alongside the Vietnamese classics, the modern Australian breakfast options are equally well done, with fresh ingredients, thoughtful presentation, and flavours that feel contemporary without being overcomplicated. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty bowl of pho or a classic brunch dish with a twist, this place delivers on both fronts. Friendly service, a relaxed café atmosphere, and consistently good food make this a great local favourite for breakfast or brunch."

"My first visit, had trouble choosing from the lovely all day menu, with all the western brunches, some Asian and fusion options. Ended up eating from the gourmet sandwiches section and chose a well prepared and presented Vietnamese roll. Loved all the drinks options here to and steered away from my usual coffee for a Custard coconut coffee instead. It was really good, as was the friendly attentive service. The Old Quarter Cafe is also spacious, and comfortable. Definitely going back to try some brunch options."

"Old Quarter Coffee is a charming little café tucked away in the heart of the city, offering a warm and peaceful atmosphere. The coffee is bold and flavorful — you can taste the quality in every sip. While their freshly baked pastries are delightful, what truly sets them apart is their selection of authentic Vietnamese dishes like bánh mì, phở, and vermicelli salad. The staff are wonderful — welcoming, attentive, and always ready with a smile. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to work or simply unwind, this café is a hidden gem well worth a visit. Highly recommend!"

"Have been to this cafe many times now, they excell in service by bringing you water the second you sit down even when busy, the staff are extremely friendly. When quoted an incorrect price for a side / add on as to cheap on accident the staff member came out and said it would be extra and if I would like to proceed instead of jsut adding it. The value for money is amazing with my jumbo bacon and egg roll at time of posting being $12 for double filling and $8 for normal. Already fairly priced considering the bun is fresh and gourmet. Same for the chicken schnitzel sandwich which was $17 at time of posting. They have a very wide range of food as well as drinks including smoothies. The coffee here is strong tasting however I do not see that as a flaw. It tastes like an extra shot every time so weak is normal what you would expect elsewhere. All in all I have not had a bad experience coming here. Look for the Central 105 sign on the main road to Lane Cove, next to red cross and oppisite Lane Cove Doctors. You get seats outside if you would like too which has traffic driving past and some in sun and some not as well as seats inside."

"Large and spacious. Very well located. Gentle summer breeze is coming through the doors. The music is modern and low volume. Peaceful and vibrant atmosphere. TV (Netflix?). No sound. Most importantly, polite service, with a smile, very quick tea turn around (hot as well). Generous portions. The other customers lunch looks lovely with rice and fresh greens. Definitely would be happy to return."

"There is no shortage of cafes in Lane Cove but this is by far my favourite. I am in love with the XO prawn omelette, . Its so soft and just melts in the mouth. The sour dough bread soaks up all of the XO sauce and is delicious! The coffee is great and the staff are very helpful, making it a great spot for brunch in the Cove. As a plus its dog friendly outside so everyone is happy!"
